Charlie has been adopted! 12-07-2016
Charlie started his life as a Craigslist puppy that was purchased by a family with small children. The breeder didn't give them any guidance whatsoever and they struggled since they had never had a German Shepherd before.
He is a beautiful young boy that just needs the right guidance and structure in his life to reach his full potential. His forever family will need to commit to training which is necessary with all new dogs, but young ones in particular. Charlie has a lot of energy and is a big goofy puppy so no homes with small children, but teenagers are ok.
He can play a little rough, uses his mouth more than he should and can get frustrated when he doesn't get what he wants. He has been tested with a cat and small dogs and has passed with FLYING COLORS! A home that already has a large, well-balanced dog who could play with him and reinforce good manners and behavior would be a wonderful environment for him. We believe Charlie will adapt quickly with the right leadership and with a family that understands German Shepherds. Ideally, Charlie will not go to a home that is a first time dog owner.
The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
