Moose has been adopted! 09-18-2016

Male Labrador Retriever /German Shepherd Dog mix about 1-2 years old. Gets along with other dogs.

Moose is a young boy who loves to play and gets along with other dogs. He wasn't in the best shape when first rescued from a high-kill shelter, but his coat now looks much, much better and he's feeling 100%!

Moose would do best with another dog that likes to roll from one end of a yard to the other. He really is an oversized puppy who has had little socialization prior to his rescue, but loves to rough house with other dogs and, now, has completed obedience training. He knows his basic commands and then some, but his forever family will need to be patient and committed to working with him, as he's very shy around strangers. He is definitely aware of his surroundings and will let you know when someone is at the door. Moose likes children, but would do best in a home with older kids.

He is housebroken, he LOVES to sleep on the bed but will also sleep on a dog bed. We don't think he's more than two years old so that puppy behavior will be around for a just a little longer.

The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
