Scooby has been adopted! 10-05-2014
This tall and lean boy is maybe 2 years old. Definitely still young and eager to please. Sweet and sensitive. Just a big lovebug! He loves to lean and nuzzle on the floor with his person. His foster mom reports that he's 100% fine with the other four dogs in her house. He hasn't been tested around small animals yet but based on his temperament and reaction to other animals while on walks, we think he'd be just fine.
It's very clear that Scooby wasn't allowed in the house in his prior home. He was very timid about coming inside, seeming more comfortable hanging out in the garage. However, he's quickly learned that being a house dog is pretty great and has discovered the wonderful world of doggie beds! He is trustworthy in the house (when foster mom goes to work; no crate) and housebroken (he's never had an accident or attempted to 'mark' indoors). He knows "sit" and some basic commands and loves treats!
Scooby is a really, really good boy who with some additional training (leash and basic obedience) will be a perfect addition to a lucky family! Ideally, we'd like to see Scooby in a home with another dog as it brings him confidence to have a canine buddy.
The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
