Queenie has been adopted! 05-30-2014

Female German Shepherd Dog about 3-5 years old. Good with kids. Gets along with other dogs.

Queenie is a wonderful docile companion dog that gets along great with her foster pack. In fact, she loves being part of a big pack and is often accepted by other dogs because of her sweet nature.

Although Queenie was found wild, she has warmed right up to life with a family. She loves going on walks, sleeping on the couch, and getting her belly rubbed. She is one of the sweetest dogs that our foster family has ever had. In fact, each morning she likes to jump onto their bed and greet them tail wagging!

Queenie will do best with a family that has older children or none at all because she can still be frightened when there’s a lot of commotion. She’s generally not overly affected by loud noises but she is still shy when meeting people. Queenie will ideally be placed as a companion dog to an existing pack. She does well with both dominant males and females.

Although it is obvious no one had previously trained her, she now will ‘sit’, ‘wait’, ‘get back’, ‘leave it’, ‘take it outside’ and ‘come inside’. She’s perfectly potty trained and uses a dog door like a champ.

The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
