Sadie has been adopted! 01-01-2006

Female about 0 old.

Sadie is a beautiful, black and tan female, 11 month pup. She is an extremely petite shepherd, weighing around 40lbs. At full weight, we wouldn't expect Sadie to be over 50lbs.

Make no mistake, though, Sadie is ALL shepherd. She is exhibiting traits of a dominant alpha female. Sadie has been correcting others (humans and dogs) and is quite comfortable taking control. In fearful or startling situations, she needs strong leadership to let her know her protection is not needed. Sadie should go to a family with shepherd experience, as she has no business running the show.

Sadie is currently in a foster home, with three shepherd sibblings and human alphas that are teaching her her place in the pack. She is responding well to correction and is learning to relax and let others take the lead. She is playing with all of her siblings and is emulating their behavior. In her new relaxed environment, her age is showing - she can run at amazing speeds and jumps during her sprints (almost like a gazelle). Sadie loves to play and she is starting to smile:).

The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
