Pesto has been adopted! 11-05-2010
Pesto is the definition of a gentle giant. At 90+ lbs, Pesto is an eye turner. He has a calm disposition, yet carries a presence. He is a smart guy, who has learned quite a few tricks over time. It appears that he was someone's loved companion and yet somehow became a stray with no id. Pesto gives you his hand....right, then left....to shake as he sits on command! He will down with a bit of encouragement. Pesto is in a foster home with other friendly dogs and he is definitely a dominant male but he is doing fine with some definite boundaries. He is fine in a crate during the night, does great during the day alone (LOVES a chew toy, that is for sure!) Pesto walks nicely on a leash and is very people oriented - if you are looking for a mature, calm XL boy, please consider meeting Pesto!
The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
